Congratulations on your upcoming 50th Reunion!

This 50th Reunion celebration will have a milestone yearbook as well as an extra day of activities on campus. Past Reunion classes have found the yearbook essential for reviving memories and becoming reacquainted. The goal is to include everyone we can. The College has set up this system for uploading and submitting contributions to the yearbook.

What to do
First, check/update your contact information. Then, using MSWord or Pages, draft an autobiography on your computer (see details below), proofread it, verify the word count is 500–550 words, and copy and paste it into the “Submit Your Autobiography” box below. Send at least one photo (more recent than your “New Faces” photo!) to go with your bio.

The site allows you to upload up to five photos for your bio (note the guidance for filenames and other details). If you need the staff to crop a photo or would like to add a caption for a photo, please add that into the “Notes about Photos” box below the photo submission area (e.g., DeGraff_Lyn_AZtrip).

If you are sending in extra photos (historic or from a recent get-together with other classmates), artwork, or an essay to be uploaded for general use throughout the book, please add a note in the comments section below “Submit Other Creative Work.”

A friendly word of wisdom
Be sure that you have written, gathered, and uploaded all the items you want to contribute before you hit the “submit” button at the bottom. Like most forms of this kind, once you hit “submit,” you cannot make changes.

If you forgot something important, please send an email with the additions or corrections to the designer at Ldegraff@middlebury.edu. Please be sure to indicate that you are making a change and where/what it is (but let’s all try to get it right the first time).

Help, I am a Luddite!
If you have gotten this far in the process, congratulations; you are almost there. If this whole electronic process flummoxes you, feel free to snail mail your autobiography and any photos you want to share to Lyn DeGraff at 700 Exchange Street, Middlebury, VT 05753.

Good luck! We can’t wait to see the pages start to come in!

Please write your number without dashes or dots.
Your autobiographies are the core of the yearbook, and they are the first things people read.
We can’t wait to read about your life over the last half-century, however you choose to present it. Please write your autobiography, spellcheck, proofread, and make any changes, then do a word count (500–550 words generally fit). When completed, copy and paste it into this online form. Remember: once you submit this form, you will not be able to go back to it; this is a one-time submission process. In the next section, you can add your photo(s). Each classmate has one full page, meaning you have approximately 550 words with one to two photos. If you prefer to have more photos, simply cut back on the number of words you write.
Photos
You will attach your photos here, but please use the “Notes about Photos” space to include any photo captions or to let us know any editing requirements (like cropping). Photo captions are particularly helpful if it’s not obvious from the story who or what the subjects of the photos are. We ask that you label all photos in the format last name_first name_title (example: DeGraff_Lyn_AZtrip). The optimal resolution for a digital photo is 300 dpi at 100 percent of the size needed. If you are downloading photos from Facebook, please be sure to grab the version with the highest possible setting. Photos will be grayscale in the book, but no worries about sending your color versions; our designer can do that very easily in her program. Submit Other Creative Work
We hope to enhance your yearbook with contributions of your art, photography, poetry, and short essays. These are NOT meant to be a part of your autobiography page but will be scattered throughout the book. Old photos, programs, letters home, and invitations can be scanned from your scrapbooks for this section. We urge you to share your creative expressions with us, describe them here, and attach them below. Please send your work in the highest possible resolution and name the files with your name and a description (e.g. DeGraff_Lyn_AZtrip).
