Data Bootcamp Sign-up - Spring Term 2018
Thanks for your interest in our two Spring Term data bootcamps. Both sessions are open to all (faculty, staff, and students), and require no previous experience with the tools we'll be using. You can attend either workshop - or both! - whatever works for you.

The two sessions are:

// Data Bootcamp I: Manipulating Data with OpenRefine and the Command Line
// Friday, 02.09.2018, 1:00 - 3:00 PM, LIB 220 (Wilson Media Lab)

* Librarians Ryan Clement and Wendy Shook will introduce participants to important concepts in manipulating and managing data, and will walk participants through hands-on exercises using OpenRefine and the command line to automate and aid in common data manipulation tasks. No experience with either tool (or work with data) is required.

// Data Bootcamp II: Manipulating and Visualizing Data with R and tidyverse
// Friday, 02.16.2018, 1:00 - 3:00 PM, LIB 220 (Wilson Media Lab)

* Librarians Ryan Clement and Wendy Shook will introduce participants to important concepts in manipulating and visualizing data, and will walk participants through hands-on exercises using RStudio, as well as the tidyverse package, to manipulate and visualize data. No experience with either tool (or work with data) is required.

You'll want to bring your own laptop to all of the sessions, so that you can make sure the tools we'll be using will work on your own machine.

We'll send you some information on what you need to prepare (in terms of installing software) a couple days before whichever workshops you've signed up for.  If you have any questions before then, please email Ryan at rclement@middlebury.edu.
