Welcome to “Hierophanies: Andrei Tarkovsky in 7 Moments.” 

This is a collection of critical essays moving through the filmography of the Soviet director Andrei Tarkovsky. Working on the level of the cinephiliac moment, each essay catalogs my experience as a spectator learning to look, being moved, and my response in the form of writing out of that experience. Start with Solaris and read on from there.
