MiddSTART is a WordPress theme used by Middlebury College to link donations to projects with their donors.

=== Plugins ===

The theme assumes that several plugins are installed.

Category Order: http://wpguy.com/plugins/category-order
Because the navigation is category based, you may wish to install this plugin to let you reorder the categories. You could also rework the theme to use a WordPress 3.0 navigation menu that includes links to categories.

Co-Authors Plus: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/co-authors-plus/
Allows multiple authors to be assigned to a post. Useful if you want to grant Author-level access to edit a specific project to multiple students working on the project, but do not want them editing other project posts.

More Fields: http://more-plugins.se/plugins/more-fields/
MiddSTART was created before WordPress have good support for custom post variables. This plugin adds interfaces for working with these custom fields. The theme assumes the creation of the fields outlined in the custom fields section lower in this document.

ShareThis: http://sharethis.com/
The theme makes reference to the ShareThis buttons in project.php. You could remove those lines if you do not wish to use this plugin.

middstart-formid: Each project needs to have a separate donations form which should include an ID in its URL. This ID should be passed to the payment vendor so that it shows up in transaction reports and can be used to idenify donations to specific projects. For Middlebury's payments through CyberSource, coming from forms in the Harris Connect online community, this is the MerchantReferenceNumber.

middstart-color: Allows you to override the color used for the project box on the homepage. The select options should be a set of numerically ordered, comma separated hex codes. For example, these options would include the list of colors Middlebury uses. 01. e86c1f,02. 006633,03. af9400,04. 669966,05. 5b0086,06. 660033,07. 04424b,08. 333366,09. 993333,10. 993300,11. 184780,12. 669933,13. 663333,14. 0a6c4f,15. 78a12e,16. 00919e

middstart-total: The funding goal for the project, in dollars.

middstart-participation: The participation goal for the project, in number of donors.
