Robert J. Keren is director of internal communications at Middlebury College and is responsible for creating and overseeing internal communications and community relations programs consistent with the College’s strategic planning. He came to Middlebury in 1997 and served until December 2006 as the director of marketing and communications for the Language Schools and Schools Abroad.
He has a background in marketing, journalism, photography, and public relations, having worked as a vendor at Madison Square Garden, as a newspaper reporter in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and as a college communications specialist since 1985. He has won New England Press Association awards for his photojournalism, and Council for Advancement and Support of Education awards for his publications programs.
Robert has an A.B. in English from Hamilton College. Married to Pamela Taylor and the father of three teen-age children, his spare-time pursuits include skiing, reading, gardening, golf, travel, and staying in touch with old friends.
