Statement of Solidarity With Students for Justice in Palestine
Please use the following form to sign on in solidarity with Students for Justice in Palestine. Our statement may be read below.

The events that have transpired on campus regarding the Israeli occupation these past weeks has prompted this statement to stand in solidarity with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). We strongly believe that Palestinian rights and Jewish safety are not mutually exclusive, and that true ‘justice in Palestine’ must include both. We admire the efforts of SJP to build solidarity by educating the Middlebury student body about Israel’s occupation, Zionism, and the historical silencing of Palestinian voices. As students in America, we cannot turn a blind eye to the role the US government plays in this conflict either. And, as students concerned with social, racial, and climate justice, we must both stand with SJP and recognize how these injustices are perpetrated by the Israeli government. The brave student leaders of SJP should not be targeted for writing critically of the dominant discourse on the conflict. Moving forward, we must do better to show up for our Palestinian and Arab peers on campus.

Sincerely,
