Student Solidarity Driving
Volunteer solidarity driving is a flexible way that Middlebury students (and faculty and community members!) can support migrant justice, community health care access, and freedom of movement in a rural place like Middlebury, which has little public transportation. This form will 1) provide information if you missed the solidarity driving panel / training hosted by Juntos in February and 2) direct you to ways to get involved driving with Addison Allies Network or through Migrant Justice's transportation network. Our partnership with Addison Allies includes a buddy system, where Middlebury students will be accompanied by a community member from Addison Allies - this is good for a number of reasons, one of them being student safety. We also hope this will encourage students to try solidarity driving: it's always helpful to have a buddy, whether to help GPS or to problem solve together; this also might open up this opportunity to students without cars (several community members said that they were happy to have students drive their cars). In solidarity, Juntos.
