Participate with Midd in the World Wide Teach-In on Climate and Justice (3/30)
Middlebury will be joining more than 350 educational institutions around the world (in more than 50 countries and most US states) in the World Wide Teach-In on Climate and Justice on and around March 30, 2022.
On or around Wednesday, March 30, 2022, faculty will devote at least five minutes of classroom time to a conversation about climate solutions and justice. Continue the conversation from this fall’s Clifford Symposium – Radical Implications: Facing a Planetary Emergency – and engage our students, who are coming of age in an age of planetary crisis and transformation.
Your five minutes could be a conversation that extends or relates to something already on the syllabus, or it could explore a new and different topic. Some possibilities include:
- What are your students’ (and your own) personal experiences with climate change?
- What can, and should, Middlebury be offering to young people at this historical crossroads?
- Does your discipline directly speak to climate justice and solutions and if not, how do we change that?
Please visit this sign-up link to help us track course participation as soon as possible.
The climate teach-in is organized by a group of Economics and Environmental Studies Faculty, in partnership with Middlebury’s Climate Capacity Program and Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest.
Please reach out directly to Julia Berazneva at jberazneva@middlebury.edu or Minna Brown at mbbrown@middlebury.edu with questions or ideas.
