TEDxMiddlebury Student Speaker Competition 2023
The Student Speaker Competition will take place on Wednesday, October 4th from 7-9pm at Axinn 232. We invite all students to enter in the competition. At the competition, students will share a 2-3 minute speech on a topic that they are passionate about that is related to this year's theme. A panel of faculty judges will elect the winner, who will give a full, 18-minute presentation at the 2023 TEDxMiddlebury event on November 11th. The selected student speaker will work with the Innovation Hub to elongate their speech.

Don't worry about having your TEDx talk finished. During the competition you will just have to share a 2-3 minute snippet from your talk.

The theme of our event this year is “Truth and Dare.” We hope this theme gives all potential speakers enough legroom to discuss whatever they are passionate about.

We also partner with Oratory Now, a student-centered initiative to reinvent the way oral expression is taught, practiced, and recognized at Middlebury. We will facilitate Oratory Now coaching on a first come, first serve basis, for those who would like it before the competition. Oratory Now will work with the winner leading up to the event in November as well.

Deadline to apply is Monday, October 2nd at midnight.
