Over the course of three years serving Community Council and the SGA, I have constantly worked on projects that have resulted in real changes on campus. I promise that, if elected, I will enact at least one of the following proposals, for I have found them to be the most realistic and achievable for next year. Please check my Facebook page for more proposals and information. Thank you for reading!

If you are convinced by this website or by me at the debate this Wednesday April 17 at 7-9pm in Crossroads, please go/vote for me starting next Thursday the 18th until next Friday the 19th at noon. Thank you!
Improve Social Life |
Implement the Residential Life Report |
The campus currently lacks late-night non-alcoholic programming; our party registration policy also makes events with alcohol difficult to host. As President, I would work to increase the number and quality of non-alcoholic social events and to relax policies which currently restrict many events with alcohol. Non-alcoholic events could include an expansion of trivia night, a re-introduction of tailgating, or dances in Wilson Hall.
Support Students Over BreaksThe current lack of resources available over breaks affects many students negatively and prevents them from having a full and equal Middlebury experience. It is reasonable to expect that the SGA will either work with the administration to provide more support, or that the SGA will spend its own money to provide such support.

I was a leading student voice on the steering committee for the residential life report, the first done by the college in 20 years It will form a crucial part of the conversations any student government has with the administration for the next 5-10 years. It is essential to accurate student representation that I be at the helm to help to interpret the recommendations so that miscommunication does not occur.
Create Effective SGA CommitteesOver the past 3 years, the size and scope of SGA committee has increased, and these groups have completed many important projects. I would like to provide additional guidance, oversight, and support to ensure that these committees follow all College policies and accurately reflect student opinion in their activities.

Robbie Kelley, student member of Community Council: It has been my pleasure to serve with John on the Community Council over the last two years. He has dedicated his time at Middlebury to working for the needs of the student body, and he understands the responsibilities that come with leadership. He is able to take issues on our campus and figure out what we, as a legislative body and as a campus, can tangibly do to make our community healthier, safer, more inclusive, and a better place for everyone.
