The Moon Rocks in Videogame
To find out how students can best learn science through videogames, we at the Center for Educational Technologies created our own videogame-one with an eye toward the great orb in the night sky that man soon will be returning to.
Selene, named after the Greek lunar goddess, helps players learn the major geologic processes scientists believe formed the modern Moon. Selene players create their own moon and then pepper it with impact craters and flood it with lava to mimic the development of Earth's Moon. It's all part of our CyGaMEs research project.
